Gallery in the Castle Porcia

Leader: Elisabeth Kleinwächter

The gallery in the Castle Porcia offers its visitors contemporary art at a high level. The 500-year-old column vault of the Salamanca cellar conveys a representative cross-section of contemporary fine art, with a focus on the areas of "New Art and the Avant-garde". In addition, the gallery wants to make modern art appealing to children and adolescents with its art education project "Art - and now?", and to open and sharpen their view without any pseudo-intellectual interpretation.

To date, works by artists from Austria and neighboring countries Germany, Italy, Switzerland, Slovenia and the Czech Republic have been exhibited. Among them are names such as Giselbert Hoke, Hans Staudacher, Hermann Nitsch, Günter Brus, Valentin Oman, Georg Baselitz, Markus Lüpertz, Mimmo Paladino, Per Kirkeby, Alfred Hrdlicka and Arnulf Rainer.
